Lynton
Lynton in Devon, a small Victorian town surrounded by an area of stunning landscape known as 'England’s Little Switzerland' is part of both the South West Coast Path and the Tarka Trail with both passing through the area. The town stands at the top of a gorge above the neighbouring village of Lynmouth with its quaint harbour. The villages are joined by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway and owe a lot to Sir George Newnes, a benefactor of the area, building this railway and providing Lynton with community buildings such as the Town hall and Church.Description Authored by: DL, Devon
