Moretonhampstead
Moretonhampstead is a village of some 1500 inhabitants situated within the Dartmoor National Park. Voted the Best Village in Devon in 2002, its residents are known for their friendliness and tolerance. Boasting five pubs, good local shops and cafes it is surrounded by stunning scenery on all sides, the drive along the A382 Wray valley being considered one of the most beautiful in England. The local Arts Trail is well worth a visit notably the fine sculptures such as the Sparrow Hawk perched above the Square and the triangle in Pound Street. To sum Moretonhampstead up - " the Village that really is a Community."Description Authored by: S Horn, Moretonhampstead
