Newton Poppleford
A pretty village with many lovely old thatched houses. The village has a pub (until recently, 2), restaurant, PO, school and village shop as well as a beautiful church. It lies along the banks of the River Otter, a particularly lovely place to walk. The village centre is marred by the terribly busy main road running through it. Without the road Newton Poppleford would be a picture postcard location. Other lovely hamlets in close proximity are Harpford, Newmoston and Tipton St John.Description Authored by: Kim Heynes, Preston
