North Tawton

North Tawton is a small rural Devon town located on the river Taw north west of Exeter just off the A3072. It was once a market town prospering from agriculture and the woollen industry. Sadly, as with most small market towns, time has seen the demise of such ancient industries. Gradually replacing these and building up more modern enterprises as employers in the area. Local amenities include a primary school, grocery stores, public houses and two churches. North Tawton is also affectionately know as the home of Jam & Jerusalem, a BBC series from 2006 to 2009 co-written and starred in by Jennifer Saunders.
