Silverton

This is a very attractive typical Devon village just off the beaten track in the rolling pastures of mid-Devon. There are three very good pubs, two of which, The Lamb and the Three Tuns serve good pub food and local ales. The market square and main street are worth a stroll to look at the variety of cottages, many of which are listed or thatched. There is an excellent butcher, which has won several awards and other small friendly shops.
