Spreyton

The small village of Spreyton is situated to the North of Dartmoor off the A30. The old oak tree in the St Michael's churchyard is said to mark the centre of Devon. Spreyton's amenities include a village hall, school, post office and stores. The local pub is named after the legendary Uncle Tom (Thomas) Cobley of Widecombe fair fame who was once a resident of Spreyton and later buried (1844) in the village grave yard.
