Sticklepath, Devon

The small village of Sticklepath lies on the northern fringes of Dartmoor National Park within the county of Devon beside the river Taw. The name of Sticklepath is derived from a Saxon word meaning 'Steep'. The village has some lovely walks with the Tarka Trail running through Sticklepath. It also has the Finch Foundry, a 19th century working museum, which is now keeping the waterwheels and hammers moving after industrial work came to a halt in 1960. There is a cafe at the foundry with a couple of inns close by.
