Newton St Cyres
Newton St Cyres, seat of the Quicke Family since the 16th century, has its own brewery at the Beer Engine, right next to the railway station. And Quickes still make traditional farmhouse cheddar, which you can buy, in their farm shop. The 12th century church contains some interesting 17th century statues and an ancient clock. Go over a hump back pedestrian bridge and a ford, and Pump Street has a chocolate box avenue of thatched cottages.Description Authored by: Tom Langdon-Davies, Newton St Cyres
