Powderham Church - St. Clements Taken by Sean Creech (c) 2001

Powderham

Powderham village can be reached by taking the sign posted turning off the A379 Exeter to Dawlish road. The area is distinguished for its Powderham Castle, which stands within an ancient deer park alongside the River Exe. The entrance to this magnificent estate can be found when travelling out of the nearby village of Kenton on the left-hand side. The castle, which is home to the Courtenay family, the Earls of Devon, since 1390, is open to the public and stages various events throughout the summer months.
